WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Frankfort teen has been charged after police say he stole two motor vehicles in the village of West Winfield. According to New York State Police, Thomas Taverne, 17, of Frankfort has been charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree grand larceny. Authorities say the vehicles were stolen from West Winfield on December 23 and December 28, 2012. One of the vehicles was recovered abandoned in the Town of Plainfield in Otsego County, while the other was located in the Town of Winfield. State Troopers from the Richfield Springs barracks also assisted in the investigation. Taverne was arraigned in the Village of Herkimer Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $10,000 cash and $20,000 bail bond.
