Herkimer man arrested for firing rifle inside apartment

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Herkimer man as been arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment, Thursday.

Jerry J. Holmes, 21, of North Main Street, Herkimer, was arrested after a complaint was received that a bullet traveled through the wall of his apartment and into the adjoining apartment, where a mother and daughter were present and asleep.

The Herkimer Police discovered the bullet lodged in a couch in the neighboring residence.

Holmes has been charged with one count of Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, a felony, after firing a rifle in the apartment complex.

He is currently being held for arraignment. No injuries were reported in the incident.
