Ilion woman accused of receiving $3,665 in fraudulent welfare benefits

ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Ilion woman has been charged after an investigation by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office alleged welfare fraud.

According to the Herkimer County Sheriff Office Welfare Fraud Unit, Katherine M. Wildey, of Ilion, has been charged with third-degree welfare fraud, third-degree grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.

Wildey is accused of fraudulently receiving $3,665 worth of benefits over a period of time because of unreported income.

She was processed and arraigned in Herkimer Village Court and released on her own recognizance.
