Man charged in connection to counterfeits in Herkimer, more arrests expected

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Suffolk County man has been charged in connection to a rash of counterfeit money that police say was circulating through the Village of Herkimer.

According to Herkimer Police, Matthew R. Feis, 21, of Bohemia, N.Y. Has been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Feis is alleged to have used fake ten dollar bills at two businesses in Herkimer on September 6.

Feis was arraigned and committed to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

Herkimer Police say other suspects are involved and additional charges are expected to be file as the investigation continues.
