Man on parole arrested for having large knife, resisting arrest

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A New York State parolee has been arrested after being found with a large knife and resisting arrest, according to authorities.

Herkimer Police say that 25-year-old Curtis Rushing was involved in a fight with another man at Pete’s Tavern around 1:03 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities said Rushing then returned home to get a knife and planned on going back to the tavern.

Officers say they found Rushing on North Main Street and attempted to stop him, when he attempted to flee. He was in possession of the knife.

Rushing is charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon.

Rushing was originally on parole for attempted burglary in the Bronx, according to New York State Division of Corrections.
