Police: Herkimer woman charged with Leandra's Law for second time

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities say a Herkimer woman has been arrested for the second time under Leandra's Law.

According to Herkimer Police, Tiffany M. Brown was charged around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night after police say she struck another car on Park Ave.

While investigating the accident, police say they learned Brown was intoxicated and had a 15 year old in the vehicle with her.

She was charged with aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, felony DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and operating without a court-ordered Ignition Interlock Device.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of German Flatts Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3,500 cash bail or $7,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to return to Herkimer Village Court on March 6.

Police said she was previously arrested in October 2010 for DWI, aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle and endangering the welfare of a child.
