Police: Utica man followed teen girls, exposed himself from vehicle

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man has been charged after authorities say he followed three teenage girls in the Village of Herkimer and then exposed himself to them.

According to Herkimer Police, three 13 year old girls reported a man in a black SUV following them for several blocks, then pulling alongside them and raising his lower body, exposing himself above the door window. Police say the man the asked the girls how old they were. Frightened, the girls went to K-Mart, which was nearby, and asked for help.

Authorities say the man continued to follow the teens until they entered the parking lot. The girls then went inside and an employee called 911 for them.

Police began an immediate search for the suspect and soon located Terry G Prescott, 29, of Utica, at a nearby gas station. He was detained and soon identified as the suspect.

Prescott was charged with three counts of Public Lewdness, three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of second-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash and $5,000 bond.
