Traffic stop leads to weapon charges in Herkimer

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A traffic stop on North Prospect Street in Herkimer lead to drug and weapons charges in Herkimer, according to village police.

According to Herkimer authorities, 25-year-old Adesola Bafunso was pulled over just after midnight early Saturday morning.

He was asked to exit the car and complete field sobriety tests. During one of the tests, a loaded handgun fell out of his pants, police said.

Bafunso was taken into custody and charged with speeding, failure to keep right, DWAI drugs, possession of marijuana and weapon possession.

He was sent to Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash and $30,000 bond.
