OFFICIALS: Missing woman found

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Herkimer Police have found the woman who had been reported missing earlier in the day on Thursday.

Sarah C. Mitchell, 38, was last seen in the village of Herkimer on Sunday, January 13, police said.

Authorities say Sarah was reported as being despondent before leaving a note for her sister saying she was leaving and had not been heard from since. With children and an ex-husband living in Oswego, authorities say Sarah is known to travel between the Valley and Oswego rather frequently.

Shortly after her photo was circulated amid the media, police say she was located by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department in the Town of Amsterdam.

Mitchell was fine and found to be in good health, authorities said.
