AUBURN, N.Y. - The Auburn Police Department is asking for the public's assistance with locating a missing 29 year old Auburn woman named Katie M. Socci.

At this time Socci is considered missing under unknown circumstances.

Auburn Police were dispatched to 3 Swift Street, the home of Socci at approximately 12:14 a.m. on June 15, 2011 after a concerned neighbor contacted police and requested that Socci's welfare be checked due to the fact that Socci's dog was outside barking, all the lights were off in her home and she was not answering her phone calls.

The neighbor felt that this was an uncommon occurrence for her to leave the dog outside. Upon Auburn Police arrival at Socci's home, no one answered the door and police were able to enter through an unlocked door.

Upon checking the residence for Socci she was not located in the residence but her infant child was found sleeping in an upstairs bedroom unattended.

Socci's vehicle was located in her driveway, and her keys and cell phone were located in the home. There were no apparent sign of a disturbance inside the home however Socci leaving her child unattended in the home is being considered suspicious in nature.

Socci is described as a white female, 29 years of age, approximately 5'04" tall and weighing 145 lbs. Socci has brown eyes and brown hair. Socci also has a large "tiger lilly" tattoo on the left side of her abdomen and a small mole on her left cheek near the corner of her mouth.

Socci is described as being last seen at approximately 8 p.m. and wearing dark blue nursing scrubs, top and bottoms, hoop earrings, with her hair in a ponytail and her bangs parted in the middle. She was also seen wearing dark brown clog type shoes.
