COOPERSTOWN, NY (WKTV) - Jerry Danel Grays, 37, formerly of Oneonta and Unadilla, faces Conspiracy and Criminal Contempt charges. The Otsego County Sheriff says Grays, an inmate at Otsego County Corrrectional Facility, tried to orchestrate his ex-girlfriend's murder from behind bars.

Officials say Grays spent three weeks communicating with others outside of jail, trying to put a contract out on his ex. At the time of his arrest, Grays was serving a sentence for 2nd degree criminal contempt.
