Boonville man arrested on assault and drug charges

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Village of Boonville Police Department announced the arrest of a Boonville man for assault and drug charges, Sunday.

Abner Rosbrook, 31, was taken into custody after officers responded to a 911 call regarding a physical altercation at a residence on East Schuyler St, on August 10th.

According to Boonville Police, Rosbrook assaulted Justin Bowen, 28, also of Boonville, causing Bowen to sustain injuries to the head and face. Rosbrook fled the scene by the time the police arrived at the scene.

After setting up an area check, officers located Rosbrook on West Leyden Rd., where he was observed to be throwing items in the grass nearby.

Investigations showed that Rosbrook had allegedly been in possession of Oxycodone Hydrochloride, a controlled substance.

He was interviewed and released at the scene pending further investigation.

On August 11, he was taken into custody at approximately 8:50 p.m. and charged with a Class A Misdemeanor of Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Class A Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.

He was also charged with a violation of a Village of Boonville village ordinance law; fighting and personal violence, and sent to Oneida County Jail on $500 bail or $750 bond.
