CROGHAN, N.Y. (WKTV) - It may not have been the holiday greeting he was hoping for when a Christmas card landed a Lewis County man with a court date.
According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Wendell W. Lehman, 48, of Croghan, was charged on Saturday, January 12 with second degree criminal contempt after sending a Christmas card to a protected person who is listed on a "stay away" order of protection.
Officials say they received a complaint from the person who received the Christmas card on December 26.
Lehman was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Croghan Court at a later date.
