Man wanted for questioning in stabbing outside American Legion turns himself in

TABERG, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man who was wanted for questioning in regards to the stabbing that occurred at the American Legion in Taberg on September 8 has turned himself in.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Frank Aiello turned himself in to investigators on Monday. After being interviewed by investigators Aiello was turned over to Utica Police where he had a warrant out for his arrest.

On Tuesday Aiello was charged by the Sheriff's Office for third-degree assault. According to investigators Julie Andrewski sustained facial injuries when, on the night of the stabbing while on the ground trying to help her husband who had been stabbed, Aiello kicked her in the face.

Her husband, Joseph Andrewski, died as a result of the stabbing.

Aiello was arraigned in the Town of Annsville Court on the assault charges and posted bail.

Aiello, who had a warrant in Herkimer, was then turned over to Herkimer Police.
