PA man charged for drugs, stolen weapon after traffic stop in Norwich

NORWICH, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after authorities said drugs and a stolen handgun were discovered after a traffic stop.
According to New York State Police, Jose A. Ortiz-Perez, 39, of Allentown, PA has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Authorities say Ortiz-Perez was stopped by authorities as he was driving on State Route 8 in the Town of Norwich. During the stop, troopers say they recovered more than an ounce and a half of cocaine and a stolen, loaded .45 caliber pistol.
Ortiz-Perez was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
