Woman found dead in Ephratah home; son charged

By Associated Press

EPHRATAH, N.Y. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after his mother's body was found in her home in rural Fulton County.

District Attorney Louise Sira says James Dibble is accused of killing 57-year-old Gwenda Lisman, who was found dead Monday in her home in Ephratah, 40 miles northwest of Albany.

Dibble was arraigned Tuesday before Fulton County Judge Richard Giardino and sent to the county jail without bail.

Sheriff Thomas Lorey tells local media outlets investigators believe Dibble and his mother had been arguing over money in recent days, and Lisman's house was in disarray when a neighbor called police there on Monday. He says weapons were in the house, but he wouldn't say what was used to kill Lisman.

Authorities don't know if Dibble has a lawyer.
