At least another year in psychiatric center for Trebilcock

By HILARY LANE

SHERRILL, N.Y. (WKTV) - The City of Sherrill man found "not criminally responsible" for murdering his ex-girlfriend's 6 year-old daughter in July 2011 will remain in a psychiatric center for at least another year.

In a recent psychiatric evaluation, David Trebilcock was found to be "dangerously mentally ill."

Trebilcock will return to Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center where he will be held for a year and then re-evaluated.

If he is found to be dangerously mentally ill at that time, he will be committed for another two years, and then re-evaluated every two years after that.

Trebilcock waived his right to appear in Oneida County Court in Utica for the hearing.
