VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police say numerous leads from the public have helped them identify a vehicle of interest in the fatal hit and run accident on the thruway over the weekend that left a Pennsylvania man dead.

Authorities said that at roughly 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, a shuttle bus limousine was westbound on the Thruway near the Verona Interchange, leaving the Lava Nightclub at Turning Stone and headed back to the Syracuse/Cicero area.

While the shuttle bus limo was in motion, a passenger, Brian D. Bauer, 29, from Pittsburgh, PA, fell out of the rear door of the bus and was struck by a passing motorist who then left the scene.

State Police have identified a vehicle that stopped shortly after the accident on the thruway. Investigators interviewed the driver and passengers of this vehicle and have developed another vehicle of interest - a dark colored, what is believed to have been, a PT Cruiser which had stopped at the scene, and then left prior to emergency personnel's arrival.

State Police said they would like to thank the public, as they have received numerous calls and leads on this incident.

State Police are looking for anyone with information on this vehicle, or whom may have been in the area contact them at (315) 366-6000.
