Ava man sentenced to seven year in prison for shooting man on his property
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Ava man who shot another man on his property last summer will now spend seven years in prison, with three years of post-release supervision. Albert Nellenbach was sentenced Thursday in Oneida County Court in Utica. In August, Nellenbach shot a man named Jesse Wilcox at his home on Webster Hill Road in Ava, hitting Wilcox in the earlobe, elbow and back. Nellenbach was charged with attempted murder, but pleaded that charge down to assault. State Police say Wilcox was looking for his step brother, who is a friend of Nellenbach's, and that's why he was on Nellenbach's property.
