Man accused of stealing, scrapping farm equipment for cash
AUGUSTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Hamilton man has been charged after authorities say he stole farm equipment in the Town of Augusta. On Tuesday evening, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office charged William M. Darrow, 32, of the Village of Hamilton with fourth-degree grand larceny. Investigators state that on two separate occasions, Darrow stole farm equipment consisting of a hay wagon and plows from field located on Knoxboro Road, in the Town of Augusta. Authorities say Darrow then took the stolen equipment to Empire Recycling in the City of Utica and scrapped the items for cash. The Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Hamilton Police Department assisted in the arrest.
