DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man is now facing charges after authorities say he stole an automobile and money from an auto dealer in the Town of Deerfield.

According to New York State Police, at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday, November 9, Troopers responded to a burglary alarm at Alan Byer Foreign Auto on Horatio Street in Deerfield.

Authorities say Eric Stutler, 46, of Utica forced his way into the business and stole money from inside as well as a 2010 Toyota Camry stolen from the parking lot. Troopers searched the building and surrounding areas upon the initial response with the help of the Utica Police Department and members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, but were unsuccessful in locating any suspects.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Stutler, who admitted to previously burglarizing this same business on two previous occasions.

He was charged with third-degree burglary, was arraigned in the Village of New York Mills Court and was committed to the Oneida County Jail on $15,000 bail.
