More child porn charges could be lodged against Rome man

ROME, N.Y.(WKTV) - A Rome man faces child pornography charges as part of an ongoing investigation.

Rome Police say they seized a computers, cell phones and computer data storage devices from the home of Steven Garmany, 50, of Batavia Avenue.

He faces two felony counts of promoting child pornography.

Police say they executed a search warrant on Friday and found that he had allegedly engaged in the promotion of child pornography.

They stress the investigation is ongoing and say more charges could be lodged against Garmany.

He's being held at the Oneida County Jail.

Rome Police worked with The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Utica Police, State Police, and the Bergen County, New Jersey Prosecutor's Office Computer Crimes Unit to make the bust.
