Oneida County Jail inmate charged, accused of assaulting another inmate

ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - An inmate of the Oneida County Correctional Facility is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting another inmate.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, Jamaine L. Ryder, 36, of Brooklyn has now been charged with second-degree assault.

Authorities say that on January 31, in the day room of the Facility Housing Unit, Ryder assaulted another inmate, causing a broken nose, multiple lacerations to the face and severe swelling and bruising.

Ryder is scheduled to appear in the Town of Whitestown Court at a later date.
