Owners of former restaurant accused of grand larceny
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The owners of a former restaurant in New Hartford appeared in Oneida County Court in Utica on Monday morning on grand larceny charges. Nicholas and John Demma are accused of tax evasion. The two brothers owned the former Nicky and Johnny's in New Hartford and each face one count of grand larceny and three counts of offering a false instrument for filing. They are accused of not reporting and not paying $50,000 worth of state taxes earned at their restaurant between 2003 and 2008. The two are due back in court on April 8 to be arraigned. They weren't arraigned Monday, April 1 because one of them did not show up with an attorney.
