Verona woman accused of stabbing her live-in boyfriend

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Verona woman has been charged in a stabbing in the Town of Verona early Friday morning.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing on North Lakeshore Road in the Town of Verona around 4 a.m. Friday morning. Upon arrival, deputies found Erwin Eaton suffering a deep laceration to his right arm. He was transported to Oneida Hospital.
Investigator David Nowakowski states that the victim's live-in girlfriend, Shawn Marie Newman, 41, had stabbed Eaton during a domestic dispute.
Newman was charged with second-degree assault, and was committed to the Oneida County Sheriff's Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
