Waterville woman arrested under Leandra's law

WATERVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV)</b> - Oneida County sheriff's deputies have arrested a woman they say was driving under the influence of drugs with a child in the back of her car.

Authorities say Sabrina Shuemaker, 33, of Waterville was pulled over on Main Street Wednesday morning.  They say she was driving erratically.  At the time, authorities say Shuemaker had her 3-year-old son in the back of the car.  They say she was driving while intoxicated by either alcohol or drug.

Shuemaker is facing several charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated by drugs, with a child in the motor vehicle (Leandra's law), and endangering the welfare of a child.

Shuemaker was sent to the Oneida County jail on $15,000 bail.
