WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Westmoreland man has been charged after police say he stole someone's identity as well as burglarized four different residences in Oneida County.

According to New York State Police, Sewell A. Claycomb, 21, of Westmoreland unlawfully used another person's paypal account to make a purchase at the New Hartford Wal-Mart. As authorities investigation, they say they uncovered several other crimes Claycomb had committed, including burglarizing four separate residence in the Town of Westmoreland and the City of Rome.

State Police say Claycomb is alleged to have taken three handguns, jewelry, a television, and a laptop from the residences, but that a large quantity of the stolen property as been recovered.

Claycomb, who is currently incarcerated at the Oneida County Jail on unrelated charges, was charged with third-degree identity theft, petit larceny in the Town of New Hartford and two counts of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny in the Town of Westmoreland.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Town of New Hartford Court on December 27 and Town of Westmoreland Court on December 26.
