OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - An inmate housed at the Otsego County Jail is now facing multiple assault charges following two recent fights in the jail.

Aaron Willey, who is presently in the jail on a parole violation and $15,000 bail that is set on a second-degree assault indictment from a previous fight in the jail, was charged Monday afternoon by the Otsego County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division.

According to the Sheriff's Office, on November 30, Willey struck another male inmate in the face causing injuries to that inmate's face. On December 18, Willey became disruptive in the jail and physically fought with correctional officers. One correctional officer received injuries from the assault and was treated at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Authorities said Willey also attempted to assault two other officers during the altercation on Sunday.

Willey was arraigned Monday evening by a Town of Middlefield Judge and remanded back to the Otsego County Jail on an additional $25,000 bail. If convicted of the above charges, Willey faces an additional 22 years in state prison.
