Parolee charged for selling cocaine in Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Central Islip man out on parole has been charged after authorities said he was selling cocaine in the City of Oneonta.

According to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office, parolee Vincent Jose Medina Jr, 32, of Central Islip was arrested Wednesday on a sealed indictment warrant for selling cocaine to another person in the City of Oneonta on December 9, following a joint narcotics investigation between the Otsego County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Oneonta Police Detective Bureau.

Medina, Jr, who is currently at the Otsego County Correctional Facility on bail and a parole warrant from a previous felony drug possession arrest in late December 2011, was arraigned by a County Court Judge on the charge and other felony drug possession charges from a December 29 arrest.

Medina, Jr's bail was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to return to the County Court next week. Medina, Jr, who has two felony drug related convictions, faces up to 15 years to life on the new charges.

He is set to return to Otsego County Court on March 27.
