Rome Police investigate reported armed robbery at credit union
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rome Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at the Access Federal Credit Union Wednesday morning. Authorities say that around 8:31 a.m. Wednesday, a male employee was accosted by two suspects as he arrived to open the credit union. Using a handgun, the suspects forced the employee inside the credit union at gunpoint and demanded cash, police said. Police say as a second employee arrived on scene, that employee was also ordered inside. The male employee was then struck in the head area by the suspects, receiving minor injuries. According to authorities, the suspects retrieved an undetermined amount of cash and fled the credit union on foot, headed in a north westerly direction. The suspects are described as black males, short in height, both seen wearing hooded sweatshirts. Rome Police encourage anyone who may have information regarding this robbery to contact detectives at (315) 339-7715.
