ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome man has been charged with rape after authorities said he had sex with a girl under the age of 17. According to New York State Police and the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Adrian E. Coonrod Jr, 38, of Rome has been charged with third-degree rape. It is alleged that Coonrod engaged in sexual intercourse with a female child under the age of 17 years old in October 2012 while in the City of Rome, authorities said. Coonrod was arraigned in the City of Rome and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Authorities wish to note that the investigation was conducted by State Police Investigator Todd Grant , who is currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
