ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome man on New York State Parole for a sex offense has been arrested in the City of Rome, accused of engaging in a sexual encounter with a minor. According to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, William P. Pike, 21 was arrested by Rome Police after an investigation into a sexual encounter between Pike and an individual under the age of 17. Pike was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 bail. The case has been referred to the Oneida County District Attorney's Office for grand jury consideration. The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center. Pike was on parole for similar charges involving a different victim, whom authorities said was considerably younger.
