UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome man has pleaded guilty in Oneida County Court to a charge of third-degree rape.

In April, Adrian E. Coonrod Jr, 38, was charged after an investigation by New York State Police and the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. Authorities said Coonrod engaged in sexual intercourse with a female child under the age of 17 years old in October 2012 while in the City of Rome.

After pleading guilty Friday, Coonrod is scheduled to be sentenced on July 12, 2013.
