UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome man who set his home on fire following a domestic dispute with his wife in the beginning of June is headed to prison.
Ronald Lamascolo will be serving concurrent sentences of 7 years in state prison for a second-degree burglary and 2-6 years for a third-degree arson charge for setting fire to his home on Elmer Drive.
He is also required to pay $194,000 in restitution.
Here is what the defendant had to say in court to the Judge in Oneida County Court Monday:
"I still don't remember anything."
"It was something in the medication."
"It just got changed. I was taking them and something happened to me."
The Judge also served Lamascolo with an order of protection against his wife.
