Utica man faces two-county criminal sex charges

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 35-year-old Utica man was sentenced as a second-felony offender after it was determined he committed criminal sexual acts in both Oneida and Herkimer Counties.

According to Oneida County Court, 35-year-old Scott Murray is facing up to a 30-year sentence, 15 years for each county offense.

Murray was arrested in January following an investigation by New York State Police regarding an incident with a seven-year-old female.

The two counties began working together after additional allegations surfaced in Herkimer County, following the first 15-year conviction in Oneida County.

Murray was sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility to await transport to state prison.
