Utica Police say two weekend shootings unrelated

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police are now confirming that two shootings over the weekend are not connected to each other.

Police said that around midnight on Saturday, Kenneth Patterson, 25, of Utica, was shot in the leg at the corner of James and Miller Streets around as he was attempting to enter Wally's Market convenience store.

Less than 24 hours earlier, police say Ferris Bell, 23, of Utica was shot in the abdomen.

Police said the two shootings are not connected and authorities are using surveillance video from that area in an effort to track down the shooters.
