Police: Utica man locks himself in Radisson bathroom with bath salts

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police say bath salts are what caused a Utica man to lock himself in the woman's bathroom inside the Radisson Hotel Saturday night.

Employees at the hotel called 911 around 8:45 p.m. after they say a man locked himself in the women's room and wouldn't come out after two hours.

Officers arrived and got into the bathroom and say they found 30 year old David Nichols of Noyes Street had broken the light inside the restroom and was disoriented.

Police say they found two hypodermic needles and they say Nichols was in possession of bath salts.

The 30-year-old is charged with criminal mischief.
