Former registered nurse sentenced for fraudulently obtaining drugs

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A former registered nurse at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare accused of fraudulently obtained drugs was sentenced Monday in Oneida County Court.

According the District Attorney's Office, Robert Adasek, 43, of Utica, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree falsifying business records.

Adasek was accused of fraudulently obtaining dilaudid and morphine sulfate from the hospital.

He was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in State Prison and 5 years of Post Release Supervision and an Order of Protection on a criminal possession of a weapon charge. He was sentenced 1 to 3 years in State Prison on the falsifying business records charge, to run concurrent.
