Man accused of killing infant son has motion to move trial denied

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The attorney for the Blossvale man who shot and killed his infant son has asked an Oneida County Court Judge for a change of venue for his client's murder trial.

The judge denied Adam Theall's motion for a change of venue, telling his attorney that the request is premature; that case law says they must try to seat a jury. Attorneys often ask for a change of venue in high-profile cases because they fear excessive publicity will make it difficult to find a fair and impartial jury.

Also today, the judge granted several hearings for Adam Theall.

Theall shot his three-month-old son, Eithen Theall, to death, in front of several police officers back in June outside his parents' Blossvale home.

Theall is due back in court September 30th.
