UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities have charged a Utica man that allegedly threatened to kill another man with a butcher knife.

Around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a residence in the 800 block of Bleecker Street for a menacing complaint. The officer spoke with a man who said that he got into an argument with Jose Perez, 51, of Utica about his dogs making a mess in the house. Police say Perez pushed the victim to the couch, held him down and held a butcher knife over his head and threatened to kill him.

When Perez left, the victim called the police.

Perez is now charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.
