Man found near 2011 murder scene sentenced for gun possession

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man found hiding under a car near a murder scene was sentenced on Friday for gun possession.

A gun with Andre Jackson's DNA on it was found nearby.

In December, Jackson had chosen a bench trial, not a jury trial, meaning a judge decided his fate. The verdict was guilty and Jackson will spend the next 15 years in state prison.

No one has been charged in the murder of Reginald Davis, who was found dead near the corner of Genesee Street and Watson Place in May of 2011.
