Man wanted for rape in Delaware arrested in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica resident wanted by police in the State of Delaware was arrested this week in the city, Utica Police said Saturday.

51-year-old Reinaldo Ramos, of Sunset Avenue, was taken into custody Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, made up of U.S. Marshals, Utica Police, Department of Justice officials, Oneida County Sheriff's and Probation officials.

Authorities say Ramos was wanted in the State of Delaware for the accusation of forcible rape of a female under the age of 16 years old

Police said that while arresting Ramos, his child asked him why he was being arrested and he replied, "Yes, I made a mistake and touched a little girl. I was drunk."

Ramos was arraigned in Utica City Court.
