Police: Utica man cut teen son in face with box cutter

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man is facing charges after police say he cut his teenage son in the face with a box cutter.

Utica Police say Michael Dixon, 44, of Utica has been charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

It is alleged that on August 30, Dixon cut his 16 year old son with a box cutter on his face. The incident is said to have occurred on the 700 block of Mary Street in Utica, police said.

Police said Dixon is a Level 2 registered sex offender and is currently on probation.

The bail amount on the arrest warrants was $40,000.
