Police respond to two calls of shots fired in East Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police were busy Monday night tracking down two reports of shots fired in east Utica within minutes of each other. In one incident, at least one round went into a house.

It began on Kossuth Ave. While police were there investigating the first report at around 11:45, they got a call for shots fired on nearby Bacon Street.

"At this point, we believe it might be the same incident. We don't know if shots were fired on both Kossuth and Bacon Street. We do know that Bacon Street, some rounds, at least one went through a house. Thankfully it didn't strike anybody," says Sgt. Steve Hauck.

No arrests have been made nor suspects identified and Sgt. Hauck wouldn't say if police believe the shots were fired from a car or by someone on foot.
