Search in Marcy turns up no sign of Baby Levon

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities say their search of roughly 30 acres in Marcy have turned up no sign of missing nine month old Levon Wameling.

New York State Police, FBI, DEC and Utica Police began their search just before 8 am on Monday, searching a dense area on Church Road in Marcy with a lot of trees and high grass.

According to his father, Levon Wameling was last seen on the front porch of his Jay Street Home in Utica on May 29. Police say he was not reported missing by the baby's father, Jevon Wameling, and they were not alerted until the grandparents of the baby questioned Jevon about the child's whereabouts and went to the District Attorney about the matter.

While the daily searches have ended after ten days turned up nothing, police continue to search and follow any leads they receive that could reveal the baby's whereabouts.

"We completed the search of the property on Church Rd yesterday, but did not locate Levon," Sgt Steve Hauck of the Utica Police Department. "We will continue to follow leads and search as information comes in."
