UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica teen is now facing charges after police say she punched another teen in the face, causing the victim to suffer a broken jaw and a concussion.

On Monday, Utica Police said they received a report from a 16 year old female who said a day earlier around 4:30 a.m., she was in the parking lot at 1122 Mohawk Street when Mayme Bonhomme, 18, of Utica, whom she knows, came up to her and began to punch her in the face.

The victim told police she does not remember how many times she was punched, because she believes she lost consciousness. Police said the victim suffered a broken jaw and a concussion as a result of the incident.

Police located Mayme Bonhomme and took her into custody, charging her with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
