Police: Man stabbed to death during robbery, two charged
Police have charged two people with murder in the stabbing death of a 47 year old Utica man in his apartment during a robbery Monday morning. Around 10:35 a.m. on Monday, March 25, officers responded to the Olbiston Apartments for a report of an unresponsive male. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Allen Minor, 47, dead, showing signs of being assaulted. Authorities say that after talking to witnesses, tehy developed information on the two suspects - Dennis Mosley, 28, of Albany and Kelly Marshall, 31, of Utica - and located them at a motel in north Utica. According to police, Mosley and Marshall were romantically involved and Marshall knew Minor. They believe the couple went to Minor's apartment to rob him of drugs and money on Monday morning and that during the course of the robbery, Mosley repeatedly stabbed Minor. The two then took items belonging to Minor and fled the scene, police said. Both Mosley and Marshall have been charged with second-degree murder. Utica Police say Mosley was just released from prison on Friday, March 22 where he was serving time for a robbery conviction and was out on parole. Authorities said they were familiar with Marshal for a series of prostitution arrests.
