UPD: Robber took money, threw victim's walking cane

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police are investigating an alleged robbery in which the suspect took the victim's cane and threw it a distance away, according to authorities.

Utica Police say the robbery happened around 10:40 Friday night in the 1200 block of Kemble Street.

The 53-year-old male victim told police that a male came up from behind him, placed an unknown hard object into his back and demanded money.

The suspect then reached into the pockets of the male victim and stole an undisclosed amount of money, police say.

Authorities reported that during the robbery, the suspect took the victim's walking cane away from him and threw it a distance away from him.

The victim described the suspect as a male (possibly black) with a medium build, Utica officers say.
