Mum's the word as Frankfort bakery reportedly gets visit from the "Cake Boss"

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Lips were sealed tight on Monday about "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro's plans for the Friendly Bake Shop in the Village of Frankfort.

NEWSChannel 2 was outside the bakery Monday morning when crews said "you're not supposed to be filming here." However, sidewalks along Main Street were blocked off and the windows were covered in black to prevent anyone from seeing the goings-on inside the bakery during the reported filming of the TLC show.

A makeover of the Friendly Bake Shop is reportedly being filmed for Valastro's new show, "Bakery Go Time," which aims to help struggling, family-owned bakeries find their way.

Village of Frankfort officials say they are excited about the attention it brings to the area.

"I'm happy with it," said Frankfort Village Clerk Karlee Tamburro. "People are coming in and people are taking notice that Frankfort has something to offer and hopefully people will come in and see and patronize this wonderful baker we have in town and see what else is going on here."

If all goes as planned, the show is set to air this summer on the TLC network.
