APAC holds job fair to help get locals back to work

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Downtown Utica's largest employer held a job fair at City Hall on Tuesday in an effort to help put local residents back to work.

APAC has recently announced it is expanding and will hire close to 200 new employees for its facility located at the former Boston Store.

"I think this spurs on the act that there are opportunities downtown in the city of Utica for job creation," said Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri. "There is hope and that's what we have to do is partner with local developers."

APAC representatives said they are looking to fill entry-level customer service positions. Prior experience is preferred, but not required.

The job fair will continue until 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Utica City Hall.
